Apparently, one thing leads to another.
I updated my resume. Then I updated LinkedIn. Then I realized DebraOConnor.com was sitting there waiting for me to decide what I wanted to do with it.
So, on a Sunday afternoon, while three proposals and several other projects are patiently waiting for Monday morning, I installed WordPress and gave this site a place to begin.
There isn’t much here yet. The design will come. So will the pages explaining the consulting, federal proposal, project support, editing, writing, and publishing work I’ve been doing for years.
For now, though, there’s a name at the top of the page and a first post where “Hello world!” used to be. That feels like progress.
I worked, consulted, and published as Debra Smouse for many years, and Debra Smouse remains my registered business name in Ohio. I now use Debra O’Connor professionally while continuing to write and publish as Debra Smouse.
The work hasn’t changed. I’m simply creating a professional home that makes room for all of it.
